tidepools
i am so thankful that we live in san diego. there are so many things to do outdoors. jae brought a magazine home from school called out and about. it is a really cool magazine. it tells you about a gazillion things that you can do around san diego. now that johnny's work schedule is crazy we decided that we need to make sure that we do more together as a family and we really want to make sure that we do fun things. so...my goal is to pick at least one thing from the magazine to do every weekend. today was the first day and we went up to la jolla to the tidepools. it was a perfect day. the weather was awesome and there weren't very many people out. my kids were fascinated with the crabs, but a little scared of the slippery green stuff (a.k.a. algae) and falling in the cracks. it was so nice to be together and anjoy each other.
My Monkey's Five!
Happy 5th Birthday, my monkey! 5 just seems crazy. It fees like you were just born. I'm not really sure how 5 years has gone by so fast. You are so smart and the things that you say just blow me away. You have become very affectionate and I love it. You always tell me that you love me 100 and 59 and for some reaseon you think that you love me more than I love you.
A Very Hungry Caterpillar Party
Happy Birthday to Jae and JC! Last weekend we had a birthday party for them and it was a ton of fun. There were a lot of people there, but it was very low key and I liked it that way. I was able to enjoy our company. We are so thankful that we have family and friends that love our kids and want to celebrate with them.

Easter
How crazy was that earthquake? Maybe Jesus was reminding us that He is alive! It was nuts and my cute daughter had the smartest and cutest reaction of all of us. She was outside playing with the boys and she dropped to the ground to duck and cover. I guess practicing once a month at school really works.
Speaking of my really cute daughter, she so gets Easter and knows what it's all about. I am so thankful that she knows about Jesus and that He lives in her heart. Yesterday I asked her, "Jae, what is Easter all about?" So sincerely she said, "We celebrate Jesus on the cross because he died on the cross for everyone's sins because he loves us so much. If he didn't love us so much he wouldn't have died on the cross. And, on Easter he rose from the dead!" Isn't that awesome?
We had a fun day spending time with family, hunting for eggs, eating too much candy and just being together. We went to church in the morning and then to the Coelho's for a yummy breakfast. It was delicious! John made waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, bacon, ham and hash browns. I love breakfast.
In the afternoon, we went to Aunt Mary and Uncle Marve's for dinner. It is always fun and entertaining to watch all of the kids play together.
Here are some pictures of our day (click on them to make them bigger).
